East of Jordan: Travellers East of Jordan in the 19th Century (شرق الأردن: رحّالة شرق الأردن في القرن التاسع عشر )

The ‘East of Jordan’ project and book consider 19th century western travellers to what is now Jordan, reporting on Petra and the Roman cities and villages of the Decapolis in the northwest. They produced journals, diaries, sketches, paintings and photographs that offer insights into their experiences as well as documenting the status of the region at that time.
